PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure favorable operating performance by preventing floating of a circulation piece when a circulating failure of a ball occurs. SOLUTION: This ball screw device includes: a circulating piece 30 fixed to a nut 16 to form a ball circulation passage 32 for endlessly circulating ball 15 rolling between a screw groove 12 of a screw shaft 13 and a screw groove 14 of the nut 16. The inside diameter part of the nut 16 is provided with a piece mounting groove 20 having a tapered section, gradually decreased in groove width toward the radial inside of the nut 16, which is formed extending from the axial end face of the nut 16 along the axial direction. The device includes a position regulating means 34 for inserting the circulating piece 30 having the tapered section corresponding to the piece mounting groove 20 in the axial direction from an opening of the end part of the piece mounting groove 20 and regulating the axial position of the circulating piece 30.
