PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic actuator easily assembled, reduced in the weight of a movable portion in association with a movable core, and less consuming power required for providing a specified drive speed. SOLUTION: This electromagnetic actuator comprises a first electromagnet and a second electromagnet disposed with their magnetic pole faces opposed to each other, the movable core installed between the opposed magnetic pole faces and driven to be attracted to the corresponding magnetic pole face by the first and second electromagnets, the core of the second electromagnet forming a part of the second electromagnet and having a through hole orthogonal to the magnetic pole face of the second electromagnet, and a first movable shaft having the movable core at one end, passed through the core of the second electromagnet at the other end formed free to come into contact with an object to be driven, and having a first spring energized from the movable core in the free end direction.
