PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary compressor enabling the remarkable reduction in the wear of a cylinder by providing a high seizure resistance to the cylinder having a built-in rolling piston. SOLUTION: An electric mechanism part 2 and a compression mechanism part 6 are storably disposed in a closed container 1. The compression mechanism part 6 comprises a cylinder 7 fitted into the closed container 1, the rolling piston 8 installed on the eccentric shaft part 5a of a crankshaft 5 rotatingly driven by the electric mechanism part 2 and eccentrically rotatably stored in the cylinder 7 and a vane 11 radially slidably installed in the cylinder 7, having a tip brought into contact with the outer peripheral surface of the rolling piston 8 by the radial energization force of the cylinder 7, and partitioning the inside of the cylinder 7 into a suction chamber 13 and a compression chamber 14 from the rolling piston 8.
