METHOD FOR PRODUCING METALLIC SOAP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a metallic soap in which adhesion of metallic soap synthesized in a reactor to the inner surface of a reacting vessel is reduced and long-time continuous production is made possible by stably carrying out feed of an aqueous solution of a raw material into the reactor. SOLUTION: The method for producing the metallic soap comprises reacting an aqueous solution of an alkali metal salt or ammonium salt of a fatty acid with an aqueous solution of an inorganic metal salt. In the production method, (a) an aqueous solution containing 0.001-20 wt.% alkali metal salt or ammonium salt of a 4-30C fatty acid and (b) an aqueous solution containing 0.001-20 wt.% inorganic metal salt are each fed from different feed ports so that the equivalent ratio (a/b) of the fatty acid salt in the component (a) to the inorganic metal salt in the component (b) becomes 0.5-1.1 by using a coaxial cylinder type reactor having an annular space between inner and outer cylinders in which an inner cylinder is arranged in an outer cylinder.
