ENTERPRISE INTEROPERABILITY USING SHARED DATA SERVICES

A system and process for providing interoperability between consumers of shared services and divergent data sources. Interoperability is accomplished using a metadata repository coupled to a shared data services (SDS) engine. The SDS engine includes a user interface configurable to support communications between multiple consumers and the shared data services engine, an access framework configurable to support interconnection to a plurality of divergent data sources, and a run-time semantics engine for executing a pre-defined exchange model with associated rules stored in the metadata repository. The executed exchange model accesses data from one or more of the divergent data sources, as required, transforming accessed data to a common exchange model, and further transforming from the common exchange model to one or more different views. The different views can be tailored to facilitate access by their respective consumers.
