The component has a cavity in a mechanical and chemical treated upper surface. The component is made of a hard aluminium material e.g. aluminium magnesium silicon alloy. The upper surface is chemically sealed in the component by a nano-film of varnish. The surface is obtained by a chemical surface treatment procedure e.g. anodizing procedure. The plate is provided with a roll-plated bonded metal e.g. a hard core metal. An independent claim is also included for a process of manufacturing a decorative sheet metal component.
