OPTICAL CABLE SORTING SYSTEM WITH LIGHT POWER MEASUREMENT FUNCTION, AND LIGHT POWER MEASURING/LIGHT DIRECTION SORTING METHOD FOR OPTICAL CABLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To integrate light direction sorting function and light power measuring function in an optical cable in one unit by using 3 photodetectors.

SOLUTION: The optical cable sorting system comprises an optical cable sorting head 20 where a bent part 21 is formed for leaking light signal from an optical fiber, a light power measuring head provided with a receptor where the optical fiber is detachably mounted, and a main body 10 for detachably mounting either head. The main body 10 comprises a photodetector holding part 5 for holding a first photodetector near the middle of tip end fitted in the bent part 21 and holding a second and a third photodetectors on both sides, and an operation lever 3 for relatively moving the photodetector holding part against the main body 10. When the optical cable sorting head 20 is installed in the main body 10, a light direction is determined by detecting leak light from the optical fiber using either of two photodetectors. When the light power measuring head is installed in the main body 10, light power is measured by using the first photodetector and optically coupling with the optical fiber.
