<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conduct a test of a print engine non-dependency function of a printer controller. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a printer testing method. According to the method, when testing print data is issued from a host device 2 (201), a reference printer stores image data developed from a PDL data by a PDL processing section 115, in a removable recording device 3 as reference image data (202). When the removable recording device 3 is moved from the reference printer to a target printer (203), and the testing print data is issued from the host device 2 to the target printer (204), the target printer stores the image data developed from the PDL data by the PDL processing section 115, in the removable recording device 3 as target image data (205), followed by reading out the target image data and the reference image data stored in the removable recording device 3 (206), to thereby carry out comparative analysis of the data and display a result on a display device 12 (207). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
