[Also in Group XXV] Cord is made by individually twisting at least two filamentary elements by a separate device associated with each element, guiding the elements thus twisted to a cap twister which twists them into a cord, the elements being drawn to the point at which they are corded along straight lines which are inclined to one another and to the direction in which the cord is drawn from the cording-point on its way to the cap twister. In Fig. 1, the elements are advanced by rollers 7 to a guide 6 from rotating bobbins by flyers 4 so that each is twisted; they are separated at 9 so that the individual twists are neutralized at the point 10 where they are corded by a cap-flyer 13. The distance between the points 9, 10 is at least 10 cm. and a guide may be employed at 10 to guide the elements and fix the cording-point. The guide may be a grooved ring, a wedge, a cone, a pyramid or two triangular plates.
