<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism enabling each vendor to install a license to permit software execution easily in a safe format in a storage device such as an IC card with a standard supported by a plurality of vendors or a memory card. <P>SOLUTION: In the storage device for permitting execution of software by an information processor, the storage device holds a software license and the software license includes identification data and an authentication key of a manufacturer of the storage device. A cryptographic key is provided inside the software and, in executing the software, the software license is read by the cryptographic key inside the software, the authentication key is generated by the identification data of the manufacturer of the storage device and the cryptographic key inside the software, the read authentication key is compared with the generated authentication key, and execution of the software is permitted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
