PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve a problem that e-mail having contents unable to be encoded has been used often when a password is provided through the Internet. SOLUTION: The problem is resolved by a first server 10 which issues a command for transmitting e-mail on receiving a provisional password; a second server 11 which transmits e-mail including the URL of the first server to a recipient terminal when receiving the command for transmitting e-mail; and a password providing system 1 in which the first server, when a person who has received the e-mail for receiving the provision of a password accesses the first server through the recipient terminal, provides a screen indicating a request for the provisional password to the recipient terminal, and the first server, if the provisional password inputted after the screen has been provided to the recipient terminal matches, provides a screen including a formal password to the recipient terminal.
