PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for assembling an electric rotating machine easily molded even if the electric rotating machine is relatively large and manufactured in a small lot, and an assembling method for utilizing the apparatus. SOLUTION: The assembling apparatus 10 is provided with a base 11 for placing a frame 120 of the electric rotating machine on a top surface and a hole 11a in the center, a lower mold 12 elevatably fitted into the hole 11a of the base 11 and holding a mold material 1 in an intermediate part formed of the top surface of the base 11 and inner and an outer faces of the frame 120, a biasing means 13 for upwardly biasing the lower mold 12, an upper mold 14 disposed above the base 11, guiding a stator 110 of the electric rotating machine into the frame 120 and abutting on the lower mold 12, and a pressing means 15 for elevating the upper mold 14.
