PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile communication device capable of accurately recognizing off-hook state of an external communication terminal. SOLUTION: The facsimile communication device recognizes voltage lowered by a fixed width from a circuit voltage Vi in an idling state as a voltage Vth of the external communication terminal in an off-hook state. If the voltage is lower than the lowest idle voltage Vi_min, when the Vi is measured, the measured voltage is recognized as the voltage Vth, and a default voltage Vth_def which is not related to the measured circuit voltage is used (a function of a control unit 1).
