PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a sealed alkaline storage battery, especially, of a nickel-hydrogen storage battery that the capacity of the battery is sacrificed because the area occupied by a structure for quickly recovery of a safety and a sealing property of the battery when inner pressure is sharply increased at boost charging, is considerably large against total inside volume of the battery, and that it is difficult to obtain the battery at low cost because of the complicated structure, reliability of operation is insufficient, and that the air-tightness and the liquid-tightness of the battery is not always perfect. SOLUTION: The sealed alkaline storage battery comprises an insulating separation wall 10 separating a part inside a battery case; and a means connecting and disconnecting a current flow by the displacement of a first conductor 9, airtightly penetrating through the separation wall, caused by the change of the inner pressure of the battery. The circumference of an opening 7 in the vicinity of central part of a second conductor 4 electrically insulated from and fixed to the battery case at the upper part of the battery case is formed into concave-shape, and a connection part at the upper part of the first conductor is constructed so as to be pressed by the opening at all time.
