The fabric consists of knitting with a weft thread (3) made on a loom with two rows of needles - front and back. It is made in five stages - (I) forming a first row of stitches on both front and back needles; (II) applying a covered or uncovered elastic weft thread; (III) forming a second row of stitches on both front and back needles; (IV) carrying over the stitches from every other needle in the back row to even-numbered needles in the front row, and (V) carrying over the stitches from the remaining needles in the back row to the odd-numbered needles in the front row to leave holes in the knitting.
