A rice cooking system for a microwave oven comprises an inner cooking container (20) for containing rice and rice cooking water, a main outer container (30) holding the inner container with a space in between their side surfaces, a lid (40) covering the outer container, and a foam control sheet (50) having a plurality of small holes (52) and supported between the outer container and the lid. The inner cooking container is made of metal and has a folded or rolled rim (22).
