FIELD: friction welding of tubes, rails, rods and other elongated members. ^ SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of heating ends of members at rotation of flat ring clamped between them; after achieving forging temperature mutually approaching members in axial direction at performing forging. Ends of members are approached one to other by means at least of one percussion action due to applying at least single sharp axial dynamic effort to them. Such effort is created with use of explosion or impact of pneumatic hammer. Achievement of forging temperature is detected with use of thermocouples. Apparatus for performing the method includes unit for driving rotation of ring; unit for mutually approaching elongated members and unit for applying sharp axial dynamic effort. ^ EFFECT: enhanced quality of welded joint. ^ 17 cl, 2 dwg |
