<p>PURPOSE: A method for managing special letters in a portable terminal is provided to assign inherent numbers to each special letter while storing numbers corresponding to the special letters in a portable terminal. CONSTITUTION: A portable terminal assigns inherent numbers to special letters stored in the portable terminal(S100). If a user inputs an optional number(S200), the terminal confirms an operational mode of the terminal(S300). If the operational mode of the terminal is a 'special letter adding mode', the terminal performs a process of adding a new special letter(S400). If the operational mode is a 'special letter reset mode', the terminal performs a process of resetting the special letters(S500). If the operational mode is an 'edit mode', the terminal detects a special letter corresponding to the number(S610), and displays the special letter on a cursor of a message(S620).</p> |
