This invention has as its object to improve the convenience of a client user when the client establishes communication connection to a server which can improve resources in session management. To this end, in an information processing method according to this invention, a client, which can request a predetermined process to a server via an application while communication connection with the server is established, identifies a field on a display, to which an operation has been made by an input device, generates a dummy request, which includes information required to maintain communication connection, or a request, which includes information required to maintain communication connection and a predetermined processing request, in accordance with the identified field, and transmits the generated request to the server. Even when a predetermined processing request is not made to the server, the client can maintain communications with the server if some operation is made. <IMAGE>
