PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain both of a high random number generation speed and a high random number property by a random number generation device for generating hardware utilizing random physical phenomena. SOLUTION: In the random number generation device, a noise 18A outputted from a diode 10A is converted into digital data by an analog/digital(A/D) conversion mechanism 12A and some bits out of the digital data are extracted as random numbers 16A, 16B,.... An inverted trigger signal generation mechanism 14 generates an inverted trigger signal 17A in which the appearance ratio of '0' to '1' is uniform, an inversion mechanism 13A finds out exclusive OR between the signal 17A and an elemental random number 16A and the exclusive OR is outputted from a random number data collection part 15 as the random number of binary random number data 15a. An elemental random number 16B is utilized as a means of the mechanism 14, and when the number 16B is '1', the inverted value of a just preceding inverted trigger signal 17A is inputted to the mechanism 13A as the inverted trigger signal 17a. |
