The method involves storing a call identifier of an IP terminal (T2) in association with a number determined from a call request, in a table by a server. An incoming call is transmitted from a service number to a call establishment gateway via a telephone terminal (T1). The gateway indicates call characteristics to the server which indicates the call to the terminal (T2) related to the identifier to establish a call between terminals. An independent claim is also included for a device of implementing a method of establishing a multimedia call from a telephone terminal towards a terminal connected to an IP network.
