The brake has stops (24) with two support surfaces having a shape complimentary to that of inclined edges of metallic plates (20) of brake plates (6). Two transversal support faces of the brake plates are tangential to the support surfaces of the corresponding stops. Each stop is fixed by using a screw (28) on a corresponding transversal side of a caliper branch (4) and projects above a corresponding lateral side (12) of a caliper.
