PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for holding a volatile component, sufficiently exhibiting the efficacy of the volatile component from the initial time by efficiently releasing the volatile component; and to provide a material holding the volatile component. SOLUTION: The carrier for holding the volatile component comprises a three-dimensional knit constituted of two knits of the front and back layers, and connecting yarns connecting the two layers of the knits. At least one layer of the knit in the two layers of the knits is a mesh-shaped knit, and the carrier is constituted so that the two or more connecting yarns may be extended from one stitch forming the mesh-shaped knit to different stitches of the other layer of the knit to connect them.
