Isolating pliers (1) comprise two handles (2,3), two levers (19,20) turning about a base with two isolating cutters, or one cutter and a grip, that can be pushed into a hole in a lever. The cutter or corresponding grip have little play by means of a spring so that the tolerance on gripping and/or separating the conductor can be equalized.
