The device has two cartridges (1) arranged for causing the contact of exhaust gas with a large heat exchange surface. Each cartridge is constituted of a hollow disc made up of thermo-resistant insulating rock having openings (2) in which metallic wires (3) pass to create heat resistance. Each cartridge has two ends connected to a current conduction line (8) connected to a current source terminal.
