The device has a spring (15) lifting an annular part (16) to a height (h1), so that an annular part (21) and a rod (25) are lifted to the h1 to lift a hood. A spring (20) lifts the part (21) to a height (h2), so that the rod and hood are lifted to the height (h2). A spring (24) lifts the rod to a height (h3). An end (26) of the rod is moved towards the top for a height (h1+ h2+ h3) so that the hood is lifted to this height. The height (h1) corresponds to the difference of the length of the spring (15) between its compressed and released states. The height (h2) corresponds to a difference of the length of the spring (20) between its compressed and released states. The height (h3) corresponds to the difference of the length of the spring (24) between its compressed and released states. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle hood articulation system including a vehicle hood lifting device.
