Production of a cosmetic composition (A) for permanent or semi-permanent coloration of the skin, eyelids, lips or nails involves percolating a fluid under a pressure of at least 3 bars through at least one coloring agent (I) in solid or paste form. Independent claims are included for: (1) the compositions (A) obtained by the process (preferably free of preservative); (2) a method for permanent or semi-permanent coloration of the skin, eyelids, lipids or nails, involving application of (A) (or a mixture of two or more separately prepared compositions (A)), optionally mixed with a cosmetic medium and/or additive(s), preferably using a device requiring no human intervention; and (3) a device for storing a cosmetic composition containing (I), comprising a closed housing defined by wall(s) (preferably two sealed films or a small tank closed by a lid) at least partially permeable to a fluid under a pressure of at least 3 bars.
