Provided is a disk drive device equipped with a disk transfer mechanism for loading a disk into and out of a play position that would not increase the complexity of the overall structure and the size of the housing. The device comprises a tray (4) for supporting a disk within the housing, a first and a second transfer roller (24, 25) carried by arms (22, 23), that are resiliently urged against the peripheral edge of the disk, and spaced from each other along a side of the tray to apply a rotational force to a side peripheral edge of the disk, and fixed guide members (9, 10) for supporting the other side peripheral edge of the disk that is inserted from the slot.
