The traffic calming device comprises a central section 1 over which a flexible rubber membrane 2 is located, beneath which is located a removable component tray. Within the tray a number of rack-and-pin gear systems are located that are each connected to a generator such that the generator is rotated when the top of the gearing system is depressed by a vehicle moving over the device. The device includes semi-circular end sections 6 which can be removed to allow access to the internal components. The device is intended to be secured to a road using bolts. |
