<p>A recombinant antibody B3, highly specific for carraghenans (C) and polygenans (P) and having a 283 amino acid sequence (S1), given in the specification, is new. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) antibodies with similar specificity that are functional fragments, variants, homologs or derivatives of sequence (S1); (2) isolated nucleic acid (I) that encodes the new antibodies, and its complement; (3) isolated nucleic acid (Ia) that hybridizes to (I) under stringent conditions; (4) expression vectors that contain (I) or (Ia); (5) host cells transformed with the vector of (3) or with (I) or (Ia); (6) hybridomas that produce the new antibodies; (7) transformed non-human organisms that contain the vector of (3), (I) or (Ia); (8) method for detecting, identifying and/or quantifying C and P by using the new antibodies; and (9) a kit for method (7).</p> |
