摘要 The ignition temperature of soot in furnaces, boilers and like combustion installations is reduced by applying to the soot a dispersion of finely divided metal or metal alloy in a suitable dispersion medium, suitably by spraying the soot with the dispersion from an aerosol container which uses dichlorodifluoromethane or trichloromonofluoromethane as a propellant. Methylene dichloride, ethanol and propylene glycol may also be present in the dispersion medium, which may be stabilized with latex, a water insoluble soap which is soluble or dispersible in the dispersion medium such as zinc or aluminium stearate, or a synthetic resin such as a polyacrylic acid ester. Suitable metals are zinc, copper, brass or mixtures thereof which have a particle size less than 500 microns. Cyclohexylamine may also be present in the compositions.ALSO:A composition for reducing the ignition temperature of soot comprises polyisobutyl acrylate, zinc and copper powders, methylene dichloride, trichlorofluoromethane and dichlorodifluoromethane.
