The method involves comparing data recorded in a decoder (15) and data recorded on a secured data carrier e.g. microprocessor card (19), to execute validity check of decoders. The data transmitted by the decoder and data stored in a database of a remote control center (18) are compared, to execute validity check of the center. The center transmits authorization data for decrypting an encrypted signal when the checks are positive. An independent claim is also included for a system of broadcasting encrypted television signals.
