A method for file replication on a first computer of a master file on a second computer that comprises: (a) Storing a local copy on the first computer of the master file; (b) Storing a shadow copy on the first computer of the master file; (c) Permitting access to the local copy for modification; and (d) Updating the shadow copy when the master file changes.
