Additive for dewaterable slurry

Disclosed is an additive for providing a water reduction effect in a cementitious slurry, wherein the additive comprises a plasticiser and one or both of the following mineral components: i) fly ash having a predominant particle size of up to 10 microns; ii) aluminous material having a predominant particle size of up to 150 microns, selected from the group consisting of hydrated alumina, partially hydrated alumina and unhydrated alumina. Also disclosed is a cementitious slurry containing the above additive.
