A method for forming a handle in a package or bag formed of a plastics material includes forming or providing a header part at one end or side of the package or bag and forming a handle from the header part which includes a handle aperture and an adjacent portion which depends away from the header part from around the periphery of the handle aperture to one side of the header part.
