Formulations containing propofol for anaesthetic use

A formulation for anesthetic use is disclosed comprising propofol and a solvent wherein the the solvent is selected from the group consisting of glycofural, polyethylene glycol 660 12-hydroxy stearate, a polyglycol ester of polyethylene glycol and 12-hydroxystearic acid and mixtures thereof. The ratio of the propofol to the solvent is such that the propofol is solubilised.
