A pivotal coupling has plastics components (20, 30) with mutually engageable toothed parts (24, 34) to maintain them in a number of angular relationships. The components also include sockets or plugs (22, 32) to engage tubes (12, 14). In the event of structural failure of the components the coupling will still be held together by further hinge (70) having steel plates (72, 73) inset into the components and attached both to them and to the tubes. The coupling is useful for adjustable handles of prams or strollers where climatic extremes of heat or cold may lead to embrittlement of plastics components and their sudden failure. |
