Process for improving the color stability of cosmetic compositions (A) that uses an aluminosilicate polymer (I). Process for improving the color stability of cosmetic compositions (A) that uses an aluminosilicate polymer (I). (I) is produced by: (A) treating a mixed aluminum/silicon alkoxide (II) in which Si carries at least 3 hydrolyzable substituents, or a mixed Si/Al precursor (Ia), obtained by hydrolysis of a mixture of Al and Si compounds containing only hydrolyzable groups or a Si compound with at least 3 such substituents, with aqueous alkali in presence of silanol groups, where the Al content is below 0.3 M, the Al:Si mole ratio is 1-3.6 and the mole ratio alkali:Al is 2.3-3; (B) stirring the mixture of (a) at room temperature in presence of silanol groups for long enough to form (I); and (C) removing the reaction medium and by-products. An independent claim is also included for a cosmetic composition containing (I).
