PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator type parking device capable of adjusting levelness of an elevator with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: This elevator type parking device has a parking shelf 4 for storing a vehicle, an elevator 3 lifted by wires 8 connected to the four corners, a variable guide pulley 15 for respectively supporting a part between its elevator and a hoisting device on three wires among the four wires, a horizontally adjusting mechanism 19 for displaceably supporting the variable guide pulley 15 and adjusting the levelness by vertically moving the corner part of the elevator 3 via the wires by pushing and pulling, position sensors 20 and 21 respectively arranged in wire connecting parts of the four corners of the elevator 3, and a detecting plate 37 arranged on the parking shelf 4 side and detectable by the position sensors 20 and 21. The respective position sensors are composed of a pair of vertically separated upper sensor element and lower sensor element, and are constituted so that the respective sensor elements can detect the detecting plate 37.
