PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a time period for forming an image by completing the transferring in superposing without moving a surface of a surface moving body for a plurality of rotations, to simplify a structure of an optical scanning means, to suppress a shift of a tip due to fluctuation in the speed of the surface moving body by correcting a phase of change of a light deflection angle by a deflecting means, and to avoid turbulence of the optical scanning caused by the correction. SOLUTION: In a first photosensitive body 11Y for Y and a photosensitive body 11M for M forming an adjacent pair, the optical scanning is carried out by using an identical first polygon mirror 32a. In a photosensitive body 11C for C and a photosensitive body 11K for K forming another adjacent pair, the optical scanning is carried out by using another second polygon mirror 42a. A phase of the rotational angle of the second polygon mirror 42a is corrected according to detected results of a mark detection signal and a beam detection signal. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
