<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proton conduction membrane having proton conductivity substantially high even in a high temperature range of 100°C or higher and to provide its forming method. <P>SOLUTION: The proton conduction membrane contains (i) polyarylene having a sulfonic acid group including a repeating unit shown by a formula (A), and (ii) at least one low molecule acid selected from a low molecule phosphoric acid, a low molecule phosphonic acid, and a low molecule sulfonic acid. In a method for forming the proton conduction membrane, the membrane is formed by casting a solution composition including (i) the polyarylene and (ii) the low molecule acid on a substrate. In the formula, A is a divalent electron-attractive group, B is a divalent electron-donative group or a direct bond, and Ar is an aromatic group having a substituent expressed by -SO<SB>3</SB>H, where m is 0 to 10, n is 0 to 10, and k is 1 to 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
