<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise by setting a paper sheet carrying speed at a paper sheet carrying section to a low speed only at a desired time without setting a printing speed to a low one constantly in an image forming device. <P>SOLUTION: A resist roller 5 sends out a paper sheet P toward a transfer section 8 for transferring a toner image to the paper sheet P in synchronization with the toner image formed by an image formation section 30. A paper sheet carrying section 20 is provided at the upstream side in the paper sheet carrying direction of the resist roller 5. A carrying roller 21 is provided near the resist roller 5 at the paper sheet carrying section 20. A carrying roller drive means 22 can rotate the carrying roller 21 at a plurality of surface speeds. At an operation section 40, an operator can select a paper sheet carrying speed at the paper sheet carrying section 20 arbitrarily on a paper sheet carrying speed setting screen 103.
