<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size and weight and to enable high-intensity irradiation on a narrow region. <P>SOLUTION: This ultraviolet ray irradiator 1 comprises a plurality of light emitting diodes 2 which are so arranged as to form one plane and are arranged at equal intervals on a concentric circle from a main optical axis of the device, collimate optical systems 3 in the same number as that of the light emitting diodes 2 which are arranged on the light emission side in correspondence with each the light emitting diodes 2, and one power supply housing 6 for holding the plurality of light emitting diodes 2 and the plurality of collimate optical systems 3.
