METHOD FOR DESALINATING SACCHARIDE SOLUTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a calcium salt from a saccharide solution containing L-arabinose, or the like and rich in calcium obtained by removing insolubles after neutralizing with calcium hydroxide a liquid containing saccharide(s) formed by hydrolyzing plant tissue with an acid. SOLUTION: A method for desalinating the saccharide solution is provided, comprising fractionating the saccharide solution rich in calcium into a calcium salt-rich fraction and at least one saccharide-rich fraction by a chromatography using a calcium-type cation exchange resin as a separatory agent.
