PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for controlling frequency of chromosomal recombination by deleting function of SpSnf22 being a chromatin reorganization factor in a fission yeast cell.

SOLUTION: The method for controlling frequency of chromosomal recombination in a fission yeast cell comprises selecting a cell for relatively ready gene manipulation, identifying a chromatin reorganization factor considered to be concerned with recombination in the cell and modifying the function of the chromatin reorganization factor.
