PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of write delay of a host, which is caused by data saving operation, in a switch for storage devices controlling snapshot operations in a file unit and and to save memory usage in the switch when generating a snapshot. SOLUTION: The switch for storage devices which incorporates a function of creating the snapshot of a file is used, and to prevent occurrence of delay due to the data saving operation, a mirror of source data being a snapshot target is synchronized and kept in a source volume at all times or in accordance with a set condition. In the creation of the snapshot, the mirror data is used to create the snapshot. By creating the mirror data in sequential positions in the source volume, the correspondence relation of data positions between the source side and the snapshot side is simplified.
