PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and inexpensively provide a polyester resin composition that has excellent basic performance, for example, chemical resistance, toughness or the like and the fluidity properties enabling extrusion molding and efficiently recycle recovered PET by controlling the molecular weight so that it may be used in a variety of resin forming, for example, injection molding, extrusion molding, direct blow molding and the like. SOLUTION: In this production method, polyester resin is allowed to react with a polyfunctional compound reactive with alcoholic hydroxy group wherein in the first step, the acid value of the polyester resin is lowered and in the second step, the resultant low acid value polyester is melt-mixed with the polyfunctional compound.
