PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low manufacturing cost, solid detergent for flushing toilet that has excellent moldability and good shape retainability where these moldability and dissolvability are substantially independent from temperature, substantially remains no undissolved residue and develops the gradual dissolution and/or persistency. SOLUTION: This solid detergent for flushing comprises (A) a water-soluble surfactant that is solid at 25°C and (B) dextrin and/or treated starch wherein the surfactant is an anionic surfactant. In another case, this solid detergent for flush toilet comprises (A) a water-soluble surfactant that is solid at 25°C, (B) dextrin and/or treated starch, (C) a liquid-absorbing solid having a liquid absorption of more than 1 g/g and (D) an oil-based and/or water-based liquid that is liquid at 25°C wherein the surfactant is anionic.
