PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element array composed of a plurality of connected high-numerical-aperture molded glass optical elements capable of narrowing down a laser beam. SOLUTION: The method is one for integrally molding a sheetlike optical element array composed of connected optical elements in each of which the top face of an outer edge flange more outer than the flange adjacent to an optically functional face is formed in a position slightly higher than that of the vertex of the optically functional face, wherein in molding a glass material in a manner that an upper mold 21 and a lower mold 22 are set opposite to each other, side molds 26 are set on both sides, and the glass material mounted on the cavity 25 surrounded by them is hot-pressed by fastening the upper and lower molds 21 and 22, the optically functional face and the flange are molded by transferring the transfer face of a core 23 formed in the upper mold 21, and a high surface accuracy is given to the optically functional face by suppressing the effect of excess glass material formed during the press molding by means of an excess glass material regulation member 24 formed on the upper mold 21.
