A housing comprises a loading opening (4) for receiving replaceable drum cartridge having test strips. The cartridge has a removal opening at its front face. The closing of the lid (13) effects linear motion of pushing portion for moving cartridge to working position. A removal facility removes strips from the cartridge and pushes strips through a dispensing opening of the housing.
